Marine Engines 4 Less supplies new "base" marine engines provided to us by GM Marine, a division of GM Powertrain. The GM Marine base engines that we supply are the EXACT same base engine provided to Mercruiser, Volvo Penta, Crusader, Pleasurecraft Marine, Chris Craft Marine, Indmar, etc.
What differentiates each marine engine company are their accessories (and color in the case of Volvo Penta and Crusader). Often the exhaust setups, distribtors, and carburetors are different, but the base engine itself, like the units we supply, are all the same.
How do I know this is a MARINE engine?
We only sell marine engines and have been doing so for over 30 years. Genuine marine units are marinized by GM marine and include a marine oil pan, valve covers, timing cover, harmonic balancer and all marine internal components.
Marine engines have to be tougher than your standard automotive engine, most of this has to do with torque. Driving a boat is like driving uphill in a car 100% of the time. An automotive engine wouldn't hold up. The marine internals, such as the camshaft, stainless steel head gaskets, and brass (or stainless steel) freeze plugs ensure that GM Marine base engines will sustain a long and healthy life.
Our new base engines are exactly that, brand new. Never been run before right out of the factory. Contact us today for more information on our new base engines. 888-364-4537 or by email: info@marineengines4less.com
What defines our Bobtail Marine Engines?
Our Bobtail marine engines are essentially plug and play. Connect the fuel lines, connect the engine to power and you're ready to rock and roll. We supply Indmar, Barr, Mercruiser and Volvo Penta drop in marine engines.
